ROCHDALE boss Steve Parkin is desperate that tonight's game against Darlington goes ahead - and unless there is a late downpour he will get his wish.
Dale are already lagging well behind the rest of League Two in games played because of Spotland's heavy pitch, but it was passed fit earlier today.
Parkin said: "The pitch is very heavy and I think everyone at the football club is disappointed the rugby lads played on Saturday. The groundsman didn't think it was fit, but the game still went ahead and put our game in doubt."
Rochdale were without a game on Saturday and Parkin took the opportunity to spy on tonight's opponents in their 4-2 home victory over Lincoln.
"I was impressed with Darlington," added Parkin. "It will be a tough game for us, but we are desperate to play."
