Rochdale ready for great outdoors

John Coleman
Rochdale will be hoping to end a frustrating fortnight of inactivity when they travel to Scunthorpe tonight.

Dale made a flying start under new boss John Coleman and assistant Jimmy Bell with a 3-0 win over Bury at Spotland. But subsequent games against Charlton and Notts County  both fell foul of the weather.

Bell said the cold snap had caused frustration.

“Unless you’re one of the big boys and you’ve got under-soil heating at your training ground it is highly unlikely you’re going to be training on grass, so a lot of your work is done indoors on astroturf and it’s not ideal,” he said.
