Rochdale boss Steve Eyre is hoping the game against Leyton Orient will see his side build on their recent good form and continue to climb the League One table.
“We’ve had one defeat in six now, so it shows we’ve got resilience,” he said. “We’re working hard to try and tighten it up.”
Tomorrow’s game is a six-pointer for both sides who are even on 14 points, Rochdale sitting marginally prettier due to goal difference.
“We’re in with competitive teams who have bigger budgets than us,” Eyre added.
Dale fans are questioning the ambition of Eyre, who believes he is just remaining realistic.
“Come Christmas the best two or three teams will be pulling away at the top of the division and we are not going to be among them,” he added.
“Consistency is what we strive towards – we are desperate for it and the players are desperate to achieve it.”
Eyre has no new injury concerns to contend with ahead of the game, standing the Dale in good stead against Orient, who are still in search of their second away win of the season.
