ROCHDALE set off like the proverbial house on fire taking an early lead and generally battering their visitors but went off the boil in the second period and had to settle for a share of the spoils.

Paul Tait gave Rochdale the lead with a flying finish to a Leo Bertos cross on three minutes but after several chances came and went, including a Greg Heald header against the upright, Mansfield levelled on 38 minutes courtesy of a spectacular Richie Barker overhead kick.

Though Rochdale enjoyed the bulk of the second half possession they lacked their earlier spark and rarely troubled a stubborn Mansfield Tweet
