Manager Steve Parkin, who has rejected a '20,000 bid for defender Alan Goodall from Chester, has no injury or suspension worries and is happy that his players are standing up well to the rigours of the holiday programme.
He said: "We have taken four points from two games over Christmas, which keeps us where we want to be.
"The atmosphere we had for our game against Chester was as good as we have had for a long time and we need that again. If the fans get behind us and the players show the same passion, there is no reason why we can't get another victory.
"The players still looked strong despite playing two games in three days and after a little rest I am sure they will be ready to go again."
After their relegation last season, Grimsby were tipped for a quick return to League One but despite having a squad packed with quality players, they have struggled.
LAST SEASON: Different divisions.
KEY OPPONENT: Martin Gritton - big target man recently signed from Torquay.
PREDICTION: Rochdale 2 Grimsby 0.
