Dale want young look

ROCHDALE will have its first-ever Youth Director next season. The progressive Third Division club are seeking applications for the new full-time position, which will give a qualified coach the opportunity to oversee youngsters from the ages of eight to 18.

The responsibilities of the new position have been drawn up by Ian Stott, who is the director in charge of youth policy at Spotland.

"It will be a hands-on position which will include the very minimum of administration and paper-work, " explains Stott.

"We are looking for someone who has a track record in soccer who has also qualified for a UEFA `A' coaching badge.

"This is a very important role within the club and I am hoping to find one or two well-known names amongst the applications.

"We can't afford to lash out big fees on new players so it is essential that we find and develop our own future first-team players."
