Rochdale: Half term report

ROCHDALE are well set to end their 40-year wait for promotion after a sensational start to the campaign.

Saturday's win against Shrewsbury saw Dale move seven points clear at the top of League Two and 15 wins from 22 games so far tells its own story.

HEADMASTER'S REPORT: Keith Hill cannot be praised highly enough for his astute eye in the transfer market and his intelligent use of the loan system.

STAR PUPIL: Chris Dagnall edges it from a host of contenders. After an indifferent season last year, Daggers is back to his devastating best.

MOST IMPROVED: Joe Thompson. A fringe player in recent seasons, the youngster has proved his credentials with a string of impressive displays.

NEW BOY: Defender Craig Dawson could easily have wiped the board with all awards, such has been his impact.

DALE'S MARK: 9/10
