Rochdale started the brighter of two teams seemingly more interested in their summer holidays but two goals in five minutes ended any hopes they had of a last game win.
On 34 minutes former Southampton striker Steve Basham finished smartly following a Julian Alsop flick and five minutes later keeper Matt Gilks could only flap at a spectacular diving header from Dean Whitehead.
Technically manager Steve Parkin is now out of work and a large percentage of his first team squad may soon be suffering the same fate. Tweet

Steve Parkin has had little to tinker with having inherited a poor squad and hardly a forward who was capable of scoring.
The Directors haven't been seen to pump the required resources into the Club, and failure to do so over the summer will result in another disastrous season next time.
Parkin should be given the job, though god that man should never have been allowed to walk out on us like he did - we were a side on the up then, though the same could be said about john hollins (play off semi only 2 seasons ago, and now we only just avoided relegation).

Show some ambition Dale board.
