McArdle blow for Rochdale

ROCHDALE's Rory McArdle will miss the start of the season after dislocating his shoulder.

The central defender picked up the injury in Wednesday's friendly at Radcliffe and will be out for between eight and 12 weeks.

"It's a massive blow and leaves us with just 16 outfield players," said Dale manager Keith Hill.

Dale take on Everton at Spotland on Saturday before entertaining Manchester United on Monday evening.

Trialist strikers Nathan Woolfe and Dali Gomez are expected to feature in both matches.
