Rochdale

Adams signs on loan

ROCHDALE have swooped for Leicester winger Nicky Adams in a one-month loan deal.

Dale boss Keith Hill tracked the 22-year-old last summer – only to see him opt for a £100,000 move to the Walkers Stadium.

But Adams has become frustrated at his lack first team opportunities at Leicester, allowing Rochdale to step in.

And although his initial deal runs out next month, he says he would welcome an extension.

“I have played 16 games for Leicester City, but have been a bit in and out to be fair-there are a lot of big names in the squad,” he said. “In the last month or so I have not really figured so I spoke to the gaffer saying that I just want to be playing asking about the possibility of a loan deal somewhere.

“He didn't really want me to go out but after hearing my side of things he agreed and I am very grateful to him for that. I just want to play football matches.

“Hopefully I can get some games under my belt while I am here and if all goes well maybe I can stay for longer.”
