A LAST minute striker from Steve Thompson saw Rochdale fall to their second successive away defeat at Vale Park.
Adam Le Fondre’s 80th minute penalty looked enough to earn a point until Thompson converted when Dave Brammer's shot rebounded off the woodwork.
Although the game was goalless at half time, Dale created enough openings in the first 45 minutes to have the result wrapped up.
Both Chris Dagnall and Lee McEvilly went close in the opening two minutes, Adam Rundle had a shot deflected into the side-netting and Clark Keltie’s measured chip just before the break brought a fine save from Anyon.
Trailing to a 74th minute Danny Glover goal, substitute Le Fondre was awarded a spot kick after being pushed in the back by Luke Prosser and duly stepped up to fire past Joe Anyon, but Thompson had the final say.
