ROCHDALE boss Keith Hill has revealed he has his sights set on several transfer targets ahead of the clash with Shrewsbury.

And he insists that strengthening the squad now can keep their promotion push going.

"We know where we need to strengthen and it's the right time to be doing it," he said.

"It's important to improve when you are doing well, rather than making kneejerk reactions to a poor run of form.

"We know the players we want, it's just a case of getting them from the clubs they are currently at."

Dale will be looking to get their promotion bid back on track on Boxing Day.

A 4-1 loss at the hands of Exeter saw their 10-game unbeaten run come to an end but a positive result against Shrewsbury at Spotland will keep Hill's side in the mix.

Captain Gary Jones (knee) is unlikely to be fit while Scott Wiseman misses out having been sent off at Exeter last weekend. Nathan Stanton returns from suspension.
