Grimsby 0 Rochdale 0

ROCHDALE opened their new League Two campaign in unremarkable fashion with a goalless draw at Blundell Park.

Keith Hill’s men had the better chances and were denied by a wonder save from Grimsby goalkeeper Phil Barnes midway through the second half when striker Chris Dagnall latched on to a Gary Jones pass and fired towards the top corner.

Adam Rundle had three efforts in the second period while at the other end goalkeeper Sam Russell had to be on his toes to keep out Martin Butler following a slip from the otherwise impressive Nathan Stanton.
