Rochdale

Dale living the dream

Keith Hill

ROCHDALE boss Keith Hill is determined to enjoy his side's play-off final clash with Stockport at Wembley.

The Spotland side are aiming for their first promotion in 39 years, but despite the pressure on his shoulders Hill is keen to soak up the occasion.

He said: "I am very fortunate - it might never happen to me again.

"Gary Jones has never even watched a game at Wembley yet he is going to be leading Rochdale out at Wembley. It is a dream for all of us and I have the opportunity to go there as a manager.

"It is pinch-yourself stuff and everyone connected to this club deserves praise.

"My assistant Dave Flitcroft deserves enormous credit. He gave up so much to come and do this job because he believed in me."

Dale will be honoured with a civic reception at Rochdale Town Hall next Wednesday evening whatever the outcome.

The event is being held to commemorate the club's Centenary Year and their first match at Wembley.

Council Leader Alan Taylor said: "It's been a superb year for Rochdale Football Club and it is only right that the whole town comes together to recognise their achievement."

Do you think Dale will do it? Have your say.

The team that finishes in 4 th place usually comes through to get promotion but I feel Dale can turn this trend around.
