SAM RUSSELL could face the axe after his second blunder in as many matches.

Gaffes in Rochdale's defeats to Lincoln and Peterborough have seen manager Keith Hill lose patience with his keeper, which could see James Spencer preferred for tonight's clash with Hereford.

It is "Kids come free" night at Spotland and Hill knows Rochdale can ill-afford mistakes against Graham Turner's promotion chasing side.

"He has done an absolutely superb job down there and he is rightly getting the plaudits," said Hill of his opposite number.

"He has got his team playing good football, they are very effective and they are winning football matches."
