ROCHDALE have taken Oldham's Kelvin Lomax on loan in an effort to ease their defensive injury crisis.

Lomax, 20, who has signed on at Spotland for a month, will go straight into the squad travelling to Barnet.

Keith Hill's preparations for Dale's first game in a fortnight haven't been helped by Simon Ramsden picking up a calf injury in training.

Rochdale already have defenders Gary Brown, Nathan Stanton and Nathan D'Laryea missing through injury.

"Kelvin is hungry and is a good player," said Hill.

"John Sheridan rates him very highly and he has given us the opportunity to bring him here to add to his experience.

"We certainly need a full back considering the fact that we have four of them in the treatment room. We have had a bit of a set-back with Nathan."
