The 22-year-old spent last season at Northampton plus loan spells with Salisbury and Morecambe.
Watt began his career at Blackburn but admits: "Things didn't work out for me because I snapped my cruciate ligament which kept me out for 12 months.
"I was fortunate enough to play for England all the way through from Under-15 to Under-20 level and it was a good time for me.
"Rochdale boss Keith Hill likes 4-4-2 with two out-and- out wide men.
"All the wingers we have here are good so if any of us play we are going to do a good job and we are all ready to support each other.
"We're looking to get as far as we can this season and maybe we can push for promotion." Tweet
