ROCHDALE have been drawn against Stoke in the first round of next season's Carling Cup.

The last time the two sides met The Potters emerged 2-1 victors in the League Cup back in August 2003.

It will be a stiff test for Keith Hill's side with Stoke having finished just outside the Championship play-off places last season.
