Rochdale

Chester 0 Rochdale 1

ROCHDALE extented their unbeaten run to eight games and further distanced themselves from the League Two relegation places.

Teenage striker Louis Dodds, on loan from Leicester, marked his first start with the game's only goal after five minutes.

Having bossed the first half, Dale were pinned back by the home side and had to survive a real onslaught in the final minutes when keeper Matt Gilks produced an outstanding save to keep out a Paul Linwood header and then saw Simon Yeo slam a 20-yard drive against his crossbar.

Manager Keith Hill said: "It was a scrappy old game but once again the players showed their determination. Matt Gilks is like a big baby if he lets in a goal in training and that save and the performace of his defenders showed their hunger for clean sheets."

Keith Hill has a fantastic job in his short term at Rochdale. He should be given the job full time next season and given money to bring palyers in. The feel good factor can continue into next season if he is allowed to build his own squad! He has already shown he has an eye for good players...well done!
