Preview: QPR v Oldham Athletic

OLDHAM Athletic will tomorrow become the latest club to attempt to end high-flying QPR's 20-match unbeaten run.

The London outfit have turned their compact Loftus Road ground into a fortress and haven't lost at home all season - that's the best record in the second division.

But stand-in Latics boss John Sheridan - for whom it could be his last game in charge - insisted: "It has to end some time.

"Everbody expects us to come away with nothing but we are going with nothing to lose.

"We are going to make it difficult for them and, with two home games coming up, it would be a big boost to get something from the game."

Oldham, who have won only once on their travels this season, have a major doubt over centre-back Will Haining.

Changes

The 21-year-old twisted an ankle in the last minute of a training session this week and will take a late fitness test.

There is also a spot to be filled up front, now that Jemaine Johnson has gone back to Bolton after his loan spell.

Either New Zealand international Chris Killen or Calvin Zola will be given an opportunity.

Relegation-threatened Oldham are now just three points clear of the drop zone after midweek results went against them.

Sheridan added: "QPR will come at us from the off and we have to be ready for the battle, especially the first 30 minutes.

"They are a strong, well-organised side with players who have plenty of experience.

"But I won't have to give a team talk because they play the same way week in, week out. We know what to expect."

LAST SEASON: QPR 1 Oldham 2.

KEY OPPONENT: Kevin Gallen - Nearing 300 appearances for Rangers and thrives on the half chance.

PREDICTION: QPR 3 Oldham 1.
