Oldham Ath

Preview: Brighton v Oldham Athletic

OLDHAM go to high-flying Brighton with caretaker coach John Sheridan warning: "We will need to be at our best."

The hosts, relegated last season, have a mean defence in their own backyard having conceded nine goals in 12 games.

Sheridan insisted: "The bigger the game, the better we play. But when you are at the wrong end of the table they are all big ones."

He added: "Brighton beat us 3-1 in the opening game and they are one of the best teams we have played, so we know it is going to be tough."

The Latics will be without combative midfielder Darren Sheridan, who has aggravated a leg injury, but striker Calvin Zola, who has missed a few days training with a back problem, is expected to be fit.

Stand-in coach David Eyres will also return to the squad while Sheridan, who has a sore knee, will make a late decision on whether to play.

LAST SEASON: Different divisions.

KEY OPPONENT: Leon Knight - tops the scoring charts with 17 league goals.

PREDICTION: Brighton 2 Oldham 0
