Preview: Oldham Athletic v Brentford

MIDFIELD star Paul Murray is back after a one-match suspension as Oldham take on Brentford at Boundary Park tomorrow.

The 27-year-old has been one of Latics' most consistent performers this season.

Caretaker boss John Sheridan is also hoping to bring in a central defender on loan to replace Mark Hudson, who has re-joined Fulham.

But he will resist the temptation to name himself in the side after the disappointing defeat by Hartlepool.

Sheridan has told his players to forget that match.

He said: "Hopefully, it was a one-off and we need to be totally focused against Brentord.

"We have to fight and battle for the cause and make sure we don't start the New Year looking over our shoulders at relegation.

"We need three points out of the game to make it seven from the last 12.

"I will be happy with that considering the sides we have had to play over the holiday period."

He added: "We were all downhearted after the last game but we now have a great chance of picking ourselves up tomorrow.

"The lads have been brilliant and they can go out with their heads held high."

LAST SEASON: Oldham 2 Brentford 1.

KEY OPPONENT: Stephen Hunt. The Republic of Ireland under-21 striker is top scorer with seven goals.

PREDICTION: Oldham 2 Brentford 1.
