INJURY-RAVAGED Oldham were still looking to bring in much-needed reinforcements before tomorrow's trip to next-to-bottom Chesterfield.

Boss Iain Dowie was in touch with three Premiership clubs in a bid to pull off loan deals. He said: "Talks are ongoing and I am remain hopeful."

The Latics who were forced to include seven teenagers in a 16-man squad for their last game will again be without key players.

David Eyres, Chris Killen, Darren Sheridan and Paul Murray are all under treatment while John Sheridan is suspended.

Dowie added: "Chesterfield play with two banks of four and the two up front have a little bit of pace.

"They also have some very exerienced defenders and don't concede too many goals. If I still had last season's squad I would be going full of confidence, but we are down to the bare bones and it is going to be a tough one."
