OLDHAM are through to the second round but they made hard work of finishing off the football leagues whipping boys Carlisle.

The Latics haven't lost a 1st round FA Cup tie for 30 years and two goals in the first half plus another in the second made sure their record was never in doubt.

They went in front in the 34th minute when a defence splitting pass from Dean Holden was dispatched into the back of the net by Calvin Zola.

Oldham made it two just three minutes later when a Carlos Roca cross allowed Ernie Cooksey to steal in at the far post and score from close in.

Cooksey, who was playing non-league football this time last year grabbed Oldham's third with 11 minutes to go.
