Preview: Oldham Athletic v Bournemouth

OLDHAM boss Iain Dowie was hoping to bring in at least one loan player before tomorrow's showdown with high-flying Bournemouth.

He is keen to shore up a defence which has leaked 25 goals in 15 games, six of them in the last two outings.

Dowie said: "We need to bring in reinforcements as soon as possible, but it is difficult given our financial situation."

The Latics' already thin squad has been stripped even further with long-term injuries to veteran winger David Eyres (broken foot) and New Zealand international striker Chris Killen (pulled hamstring).

Defensive strongman Mark Hudson has also returned to Fulham after two months on loan at Boundary Park.

The Latics take on third-placed Bournemouth on the back of two defeats, one of which, a 4-0 thrashing at Wrexham, was Dowie's biggest as a manager.

Dowie added: "We are conceding too many goals and it has to stop. We have been naive and it is not good enough.

"But it is down to ourselves and we have the character to bounce back and get another good run going."

KEY OPPONENT: Warren Feeney - grabs vital goals.

PREDICTION: Oldham 2 Bournemouth 1
