OLDHAM take on Division Two new boys Rushden and Diamonds with suspensions already beginning to bite.

The season may only be four games in, but boss Iain Dowie's overstretched squad will be without three players.

Darren Sheridan starts a three-match ban, while Danny Boshell and Danny Hall serve one game bans. Defender Mark Hudson, on loan from Fulham, will be given his home debut if he recovers, as expected, from an ankle injury.

Swedish Under-19 centre back Kangana Ndiwa will return to the starting line-up.

Midfielder Matt O'Halloran, 20, who has been given a month's contract after being released by Derby County, will get the opportunity to win an extended deal.

Dowie said: "Despite just one point from our four games there have been some encouraging signs."
