Preview: Oldham Athletic v Brighton

OLDHAM have been rocked by injuries and suspension before a ball has been kicked.

They take on relegated Brighton at Boundary Park without Matty Appleby, Michael Clegg, David Beharall and Danny Forde.

Kiwi international striker Chris Killen (foot) and defender Dean Holden (thigh) are doubtful while veteran winger David Eyres has had X-rays to check if his ankle knock has a hairline fracture.

He said: "It is still sore but, hopefully, I will get the all-clear be able to play with it heavily strapped."

New midfield signing Ernie Cooksey is a non-starter as he begins a four-match ban.

Boss Iain Dowie still hopes to pull off a loan signing before the game.

He said: "We will have to be totally focused."

Brighton were hoping to complete the loan signing of 6ft in Reading striker Darius Henderson in time.

KEY OPPONENT: Simon Rodger. The former Crystal Palace and Manchester City man is the driving force in midfield.

LAST SEASON: Different divisions.

PREDICTION: Oldham 1 Brighton 1.
