CHRIS Hall's 78th minute header gave Latics a deserved replay after they withstood the hosts' first-half charge to earn a draw.

The substitute made it three goals from three FA Cup appearances this season, rising highest to head Andy Liddell's free kick past Matt Murray.

It was the least that John Sheridan's side deserved for a gutsy second-half display which saw them nullify their hosts for the most part.

They had enjoyed a dream start when Paul Warne gave them a 19th minute lead, racing onto Richie Wellens' through ball and slotting past Murray.

However, that was the prelude to a 20-minute spell of complete domination from the home side with Rohan Ricketts and Mark Little wreaking havoc down the Oldham left-hand side.

The equaliser came on 35 minutes when Michael McIndoe's shot came off the ost and Sey Olofinjana was first to the rebound.

Craig Davies' header from six yards gave Wolves the half-time lead, only for Hall to bring 3,000 Latics fans to their feet with his equaliser.

Although both sides sought a winner, it was Wolves who came closest, only to see Mark Davies shoot wide after a one-two with Olofinjana had put him clean through.

  • Should Latics defeat Wolves at Boundary Park in the replay next Tuesday, they will host West Bromwich Albion in round four.
