CRISIS club Oldham were today (Monday) revealing new details on the cost-cutting measures aimed at ensuring the club's survival.

The Latics are millions of pounds in debt and top-level talks on job losses and pay cuts have been on the agenda for the last 10 days.

But while there is turmoil off the pitch, the players showed there were no signs on it.

They went to fellow high-fliers Queens Park Rangers on Saturday and came away with with a hard-fought, but well-deserved, 2-1 win.

It was the first time the London outfit had lost in the league at home in 22 games - a record going back to November last year.

Boss Iain Dowie, who has had to put names forward to join the eight who have already been given free transfers, said: "I couldn't have asked any more of my players."

The Latics chief, who was a player, coach and caretaker manager at Loftus Road, added: "Rangers are a very big club who deserve to be in the first division.

"They will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season - I can guarantee that. But we matched them all the way and our defence was magnificient when they went for us in the second half."

The Latics went a goal down after just two minutes. But the response was electric as Josh Low and Lee Duxbury grabbed the goals.
