Injury woes worsen

OLDHAM'S woes have worsened with the news that three more first team players have been ruled out of Saturday's trip to QPR.

Tony Carss, Julien Baudet and Will Haining all limped off during last night's (Tuesday) LDV Vans clash with Carlisle and now face a spell on the sidelines.

And with David Beherall, Matty Appleby, Paul Murray, Josh Low, Clyde Wijnhard and Wayne Gill also out manager Iain Dowie has a massive selection headache.

Of the three new injuries, Carss appears to be the most serious. The midfielder has been sent for X-rays amid fears that he has damaged ankle ligaments. He is likely to be out for at least a month, while Baudet will be out for about four weeks with a torn hamstring and Haining faces two weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring strain.

A downcast Dowie told Oldham's official site: " We are having a really bad time at the moment.

"We work on flexibility, but you just can't legislate for these things."

One small plus for Dowie was that Low and Murray were due to play in a reserve team match against Macclesfield today.

Will Oldham refind their form when key players return? Have your say.
