RONNIE Moore has parted company with Oldham Athletic after 15 months in charge of the League One outfit.
Assistant John Breckin has also left the club and the Latics have moved swiftly to install John Sheridan as the new manager at Boundary Park with immediate effect.
Former Rotherham boss Moore replaced Brian Talbot in March 2005 and this season steered his side to within six points of a play-off place.
Sheridan, 41, made over 150 appearances for Oldham during a six-year spell with the club before calling time on his illustrious playing career in July 2004.

Almost unbelievable.
Prayers answered at last - the club can now go forward for the first time since Andy Ritchie was sacked in the other Moore days.
Watch now for David Eyres making a comeback to the club!.....
Whilst I feel this is good news for the club I am concerned that it is "For financial reasons" We clearly dont seem able to compete for new players with Darlington who have signed Michael Cummings and obviously are offering Guy Branston less.I am not too worried that Branston is not staying but is it a sign of the times. I believe that John Sheridan is an excellent choice but again I wonder if he is on the cheap.
now that the dark clouds have gone away over boundary park , the club can now breath fresh air again and with shez getting the job the better ,i just hope that eyresy gets a phone call asking him to come back as first team coach ,and i hope the fans will now start buying the season tickets so that the club can get new players ie goal keeper and give beckett a contract
Right, now that the fans wishes have been granted, and a bonus that J.S. has been given the job, lets renew the faith in Latics for next season. Let's help with the funding for next season.
