The Latics head to Glanford Park bottom of League One following defeats in their opening two league games.
While some Oldham fans might already be contemplating a season-long relegation battle, manager Paul Dickov sounded a defiant note.
“It’s not the start we wanted but that’s all it is – a start,” Dickov said.
“We’re two games in and, while we’re bottom of the league and I’m not happy with it, this time last year we were top after two games.
“I didn’t want to read too much into it then and I won’t now, but I do want to address what’s going wrong.
“In the games we’ve played so far, we’ve been in all of them but as soon as we’ve lost a goal, heads have gone down.
“Whether that’s a confidence thing I don’t know but what we have to do is work hard and get back to being hard to beat.”
In the likely prolonged absence of skipper Dean Furman (knee), James Wesolowski and Matty Lund are set to continue in the centre of midfield. Tweet

Paul your making a right Dickov yourself !
Paul, not everyone is against you. Short sighted people who get at the club after 2 games into the season need to get a brain. You are doing things right by not panicking and I am sure we will shut some of the moaners up by the end of the season.
Results count......Tuesday 2300
Oh well what a nice result that was. He's a wonder man is Paul and thats after 3 games.
Seriously what a great result to shut the moaning minnows up. Carry on with the good work Paul.
