Oldham Athletic 1 Doncaster Rovers 2

GOALS in each half boosted lively Doncaster's play off hopes and ended Oldham's nine match unbeaten home run.

The Latics were chasing the game as early as the first minute.

Full back Alex Bruce was punished after giving the ball away to allow winger, Michael McIndoe the opening to race to the edge of the box.

His neat cut back picked out unmarked Greg Blundell and last season's top scorer made no mistakes from six yards.

Oldham went in search of an equaliser but Kevin Betsy and Mark Hughes failed to find the target with reasonable chances.

Betsy also had claims for a penalty turned down in the 31st minute when he clearly had his arm pulled.

Doncaster constantly got men behind the ball after the break and hit Oldham on the counter.

It was a typical break away raid that put the game out of Oldham's reach. Blundell turned provider to send Jamie McSporran on a run and he calmly picked his spot to shoot past keeper Les Pogliacomi from just inside the box.

Scott Vernon headed his fifth goal in seven games for the home side but it only turned out to be a consolation effort.

Back to your fight against relegation. Or did you all celebrated too hard too long?
D.Rovers doesn't seem to be from the class mighty Wanderes are, but hey, it might be stormy again.
