Boss Brian Talbot said: "I have told the players they have done well so far - but I want more.
"We have to concentrate on climbing the table and we need to look at bigger and better targets."
The Latics are in a rich vein of form, their best for two seasons, and have scored 18 goals while conceding just five in their winning spurt.
And hot-shot Chris Killen is in the best scoring spree of his league career.
The New Zealand international hitman is top scorer with 11 goals - 10 of them in his last six outings.
Oldham will stick with the side that demolished Chesterfield on Tueday night to end that team's six-match winning run.
Huddersfield include former Latics favourite Tony Carrs, who still lives in the town.
Talbot, who watched them beat Swindon in midweek, said: "I also saw them in their previous game and at that stage both teams looked better than mine. I was a bit concerned, but we now can give a game to any team in this league, especially at home."
KEY OPPONENT: Pawel Abbott - the Polish under-21 star has scored 14 goals already.
LAST SEASON: Different divisions.
PREDICTION: Oldham Ath 2 Huddersfield 1. Tweet
