LOAN star Aaron Wilbraham proved the difference maker against his own club after his late switch to Oldham.
The big striker, who left Stockport County to join Hull in the summer after eight seasons at Edgeley Park, was in an Oldham shirt after joining the Latics the day before on a month's loan from his new club.
'It was a bit strange, scoring against Stockport,' said Wilbraham, Oldham's hero in the 2-1 away win.
'I didn't want to celebrate because it would have been rubbing people's noses in it and I didn't want to do that.
'So after the goals I kept my head down and ran back to the centre circle. I always think it looks a bit daft when a player goes back to his old club and tries to act the big man.
'I may have felt a bit different if I hadn't had such a good relationship with the Stockport fans, but they were always great to me.'
Oldham fully deserved their two-goal lead after taking the game to Stockport.
John Eyre hit the crossbar in the first minute, and there was little surprise when Wilbraham turned two defenders and slotted the ball home with his left foot in the 13th minute.
It was another left-footed strike that gave Wilbraham his second in the 39th minute.
