Two late goals condemned Paul Dickov to defeat in his first home game as Oldham boss, as Burnley ran out 2-1 winners.

Steve Thompson and Leon Cort netted in the last 10 minutes after trialist Peter Jones had set the Latics on course for victory.

Jones opened the scoring on six minutes, racing on to Dale Stephens’ through-ball before beating Brian Jensen.

Dean Brill then kept out  Chris Iwelumo’s penalty when Rod McDonald impeded Richard Eckersley.

But Thompson levelled on 82 minutes when collecting Daniel Fox’s long ball.

Cort then handed the Clarets victory, heading home four minutes later. Tweet
