Oldham Ath

Preview: Doncaster Rovers v Oldham Athletic

OLDHAM go to Doncaster tomorrow still looking for their first away win of the season, but boss Brian Talbot insisted: "The results will come if we keep our heads high."

The Latics have taken just one point from a possible 12 on their travels and face another tough test against a side with an unbeaten home record.

The Latics have the best scoring record in the country - 13 goals in four games - at their own place but have managed just two in as many games away.

Talbot said: "It is vital we take our home form on the road.

"Overall, we haven't done too badly because we have gone to sides so far who have all been tipped to do well this season."

Oldham are seven places below ninth-placed Doncaster, but victory over Tranmere in midweek would have lifted Latics into the top six.

Talbot added: "I go out to try to win every game and there is no reason why we can't bounce back from our defeat by Tranmere.

"The line between success and failure in our league is a very thin one."

Trialist keeper Craig Mawson will continue in goal in place of Aussie Les Pogliacomi, who picked up a groin strain in the defeat at Prenton Park.

Midfielder Mark Bonner is still out with hamstring damage. Striker Rodney Jack, who was caught up by the devastating Hurricane Ivan while on international duty in the Carribbean, could be in from the start. He was on the bench at Tranmere after a gruelling 10 days away but is set to re-form his partnership with Jamaican international Jermaine Johnson up front.

The Latics, meanwhile, have paid up the contract of midfielder Ernie Cooksey. The 24-year-old is understood to be a top target for Rochdale.

LAST SEASON: Different divisions.

KEY OPPONENT: Michael McIndoe - top scorer with three goals.

PREDICTION: Doncaster 1 Oldham Ath 2
