JOHN Sheridan is desperate to find a goalkeeper before Oldham face Northampton on Saturday.

With Greg Fleming suspended and Mark Crossley injured, the Latics have only 19-year-old Josh Bell to call upon.

Bell has never played a senior game for Oldham and wasn't even considered ready to be named on the bench for their goalless draw with Leicester last weekend.

It meant Dean Windass had to play as an emergency goalkeeper when Fleming was sent-off just after half-time.

Oldham boss Sheridan said: "Greg is out, Mark's not fit and I don't think young Josh is ready so we will be looking at the loan market.

"I will look at the situation and see what we can do in the days ahead."

Better news for Sheridan is Reuben Hazell's decision to sign a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2011.

He was part of an impressive rearguard that kept League One leaders Leicester at bay last weekend.
