The Latics will be bidding to make it seven games unbeaten but Sheridan is still smarting from last Saturday's poor performance in a 1-1 stalemate against Leyton Orient.
Sheridan branded the performance the `worst of the season' at Boundary Park and has challenged his players to get back to winning ways after three successive draws.
He said: "We must take all three points if we are to stay with the rest of the of the pack, nothing else will be good enough."
Oldham will be unchanged with rookie keeper Greg Fleming continuing to deputise for the injured Mark Crossley who is out until the New Year.
Crewe have the worst defence in League One while the Latics have one of the best scoring records.
Sheridan added: "You never know what your are going to get from Crewe who can be very good on their day.
"They are having a tough time this season but it won't make them any less dangerous."
