OLDHAM boss John Sheridan has sent two players out on loan.

Defender John Thompson, 26, has joined League Two Notts County for a month while 22-year-old Chris O'Grady will spend a similar  period with Bury.

Sheridan, now in his third season, has built his biggest ever squad since he took over the Boundary Park hot seat.

He said: "Players are training hard all week but not playing come Saturday.

"They need regular football and going on loan is a good opportunity for these two lads to get games under their belts.

"There will come a time when I will need other players in my first team and I want them to be ready when the call comes."
