Superb commitment from both teams who both played to the final whistle. A fair result and a terrific day out. United United top the league, United, top the league!

Although Nantwich did not have many shots at goal, they were able to cintain FC's midfield particularly in the first half. With the slope in the second half FC put Nantwich under a lot of prerssure. Unfortunatley, most of FC's shots at goal were offf target. Rory's goal was a 25 yard screamer just off the ground. Overall a 1-1 draw against the third placed team who have the second best defensive record (after FC) in the league is a good result for FC.

I am sure Pattersons volley took a deflection from where I was stood he looked more like the pinball wizard. Great goal all the same I think we deserved a draw. Looking forward to seeing Colne again on Saturday when hopefully Dave Brown will smash in another blinder.

This result keeps the title race very much alive. The potential difference between Curzon and us is a mere 2 points so if we lose one more game than we will could finish second. Nantwich are also looking good for promotion as well as Curzon. Like Curzon they have also had a new Stadium built and I'm sure they would like to start their new era at their new ground in the Unibond. The 3.8million sports complex has a shared community use with local people using the facility for other events when Nantwich are not playing. Realistically this is the model we will have to adopt to procure a stadium as most of the money comes from grants with strict shared community use criteria. This would fit in well with one of our clubs core principles of community involvement anyway so it would work well for us. On a different note, I think is worth mentioning that over the two ties we have played away to Nantwich, their fans have proven to be the most likable in the NWCFL. Some of them even joined in with some of our songs which has to be a first. I think it is unlikely we will be in the same league next season even if we both get promoted. According to the programme we will be in different Unibond divisions. I would like to wish them all the best and hopefully we will play again at their new stadium at some point even if it's only a friendly.

good result on saturday really, considering we were pretty poor have to be happy with a point away from home against 3rd place. good show from the fc faithfull again but that ground definately shows our new home will need a good stand behind the goals as the atmosphere definately dwindles in these grounds.

Shanny, FC United are top of the League. So what are you getting so bitter about, city not getting a game this weekend? city being three places of relegation? Maine Road FC being out of the NWCFL promotion race? Watching the team city would have played lift the trophy you last saw 31 years ago?

Shanny, it's not really true to say all the fans are back on the United bandwaggon is it?

This season's average home crowd is 2,474. If you take out the two large attendances from last season (as they were one-offs) the average was 2,806. And last season had fewer midweek matches which always get lower crowds.

And we've still got Maine Rd and Salford at home to come. If these games get 4,000 then you'll see the crowds are not down much. Let's not forget little city's average crowd is well down this season.

Shanny, who cares about FC United? Obviously you do or you wouldn't spend your time posting about them!

Typical of old Fried Egg obssessed about City as usual. They might not have won a major trophy for 31 years but at least their fans are loyal which is more than you can say for most FC fans.

Good to see the MEN change the posting process which will stop the multi name postings of Free Read, Little Jokey and Mr Brennan.

Looks like FC aren't getting it all their own way now. Meanwhile Curzon are headed to Wales/Wembley.

I also think it is wonderful that the MEN has changed their posting policies. It will cut back on Free Read's numerous conversations with himself. The self-publicists on the FC Board will probably have to pay a few of their members to post positive comments about their management efforts and multi-excuses why attendance at FC matches is down so much this season.

Malc, Looks like your mate Tommy Tampa aka Dash Walny (the obvious Andy Walsh anagram) is back up to his duel personality tricks again. But hey, "different strokes for different folks as you say" CLASSIC!
