Marginson salutes rebels

FC UNITED manager Karl Marginson saluted his red-hot Rebels after they'd dug deep to return to the top of the NWCL first division with a 3-0 revenge win over Atherton Collieries.

Two long-range strikes by Dave Swarbrick followed by Stuart Rudd's 31st goal of the season saw FC avenge their only home league defeat of the season in resounding fashion.

Swarbrick opened the scoring with a 25-yard drive just after the half-hour mark and then promptly repeated the feat with an even more sweetly-struck effort to give Marginson's men a 2-0 interval lead.

Rudd then reacted instinctively to round off a win which takes FC back to the top on goal difference ahead of Salford City.

Said Marginson: " All credit to the boys for how they've responded to our recent hiccup with three successive victories."

Free Red. I may be a bit dim but when you say that Tommy/ Malcolm of Tampa is someone with a vested interest, and I can work out the rest for myself........well, I can't work it out. You don't mean do you that it's one of the Glazer family, or even Malcolm G himself??? That would be a coup for the MEN!!! I notice, by the way, that he has gone very quiet recently. Any theories?

According to United our Euro away at (Blackpool) Squires Gate is planned to be moved to Bamber Bridge!!!!

Like most Reds I was looking at this game as the highlight of the season...a repeat of last Febs trip to Blackpool...so what has gone wrong...??

As far as I know Mechanics and Blackpool FC both did well out of our visit...so I assume its not a financial issue.

Sorry tampa twin, but divorce is a reality these days, whether from a failing and unhappy marriage that started with all good intentions in the world or from a football club, franchise, brand call it what you will. Glazer was the final straw for me, I had long become uneasy and unhappy about the way MU was going. Yes, divorce is painful, but sometmes it is the best option. I have no regrets, and whether MU win one, two, three trophies or nothing, I wont be at any end of season parade.
BTW 'not united bury' talks about 'when united wins' (sic) - a clear use of American English, any English person would say 'when united win'. Sloppy mistake could that be yet another a tampa twin alias?

Little Jockey. Blackpool FC are at home to Brighton on 10th March so Bloomfield Rd is not available. I am still going to Blackpool for the day. The Bamber Bridge ground is only about 20 mins up the M6/M55 motorways from Blackers. I hear some are going for the weekend again.

This weeks big news FC United story is the Curzon Ashton match at Gigg lane this Saturday 13th January 2007 k.o. 3.00pm. Curzon have a FA Vase match the following Saturday, but like ourselves, they want promotion to step 4. This has to be our biggest match of the season so far. Their strikers Michael Norton and Steven Moore are the best striking partnership in the league. When it comes to scoring goals, these two ARE Curzon Ashton with Norton scoring 34 and Moore 33 in all competitions. We also have a strong strike force of Rudd 31 goals, Patterson 20 goals and Carden 13 goals so I reckon we are in for a belting tie.

The reports of my demise have been highly exaggerated. No, I'm not best mates with the Glazer family as has also been reported. I am merely a fanactico Bucs fan who has followed the Glazer's ownership of the Bucs for the decade plus they have owned the club. Initially I could believe the snowjob that the English press were doing on the Glazer family. I told you and told you the club would not change, the Glazers would hide out in their offices and never find the light of day. They don't do press conferences about Man United or the Bucs. They can raise money in a hurry (highlight AIG) and they let the football people handle the football issues. Any incorrect statements so far Free Read?

I blame FC fans for the Glazer's lack of outreach towards the fans. The Glazers put on the "Fan Fest" for Bucs fans every June. Free Parking and Free Admission. Plus Free Events on Draft day to watch the draft. I would never call the Glazers choir boys in regards to their handling of business, but can you name me one business decision they made that didn't help the club?? And don't start with the Stadium nonsense. My Opinion is that the TB Sports Authority may be the only board more corrupt and on the take more the Glazers themselves.

I salute FC fans, but despise the FC board and their claims.

Well that wouldnt be connected in any way to Uniteds position in the Premiership would it? Don't mention the GBP 0.6 billion debt the Glazers have dumped on United and the fact ticket prices have already gone up on average by 24%. Parking up 25%, food and drink all up, people phoning you at work and home trying to sell MU credit cards on numbers provided for emergency purposes. Then there's the endless junk mail both electronic and hard copy. Non existent transfer funds, the minus value transfers made with more players leaving than coming in. The list of changes goes on and on and you say it's all OK! Well it isn't all OK. If United win anything this year it will be all down to SAF. United never needed the Glazers and never will. Glazer out!
