The former Bury reserve has been impressing for the Rebels' second string and is in the shake-up for a match in which a win would propel FC into the national phase of the competition.
"Shaun has something we have been missing, which is a bit of balance on the left-hand side - he has a fantastic left foot," said Marginson.
"I have not yet decided my team, but he could well come in, and that would allow me to push Alex Mortimer up into midfield."
FC, without a win in two games, welcome back top scorer Stuart Rudd, while 6ft 4in Liam Coyne steps in at centre half with skipper Dave Chadwick suspended and Dave Brown cup-tied.
Gary Sampson has a hamstring problem, but anchor man Steve Spencer is expected to step back.
