DANNY Allen returns to the bench for FC United tonight - after scoring four goals on his full debut!

Rebels host Atherton Collieries at Gigg Lane (7.45pm) after scoring 23 goals without reply in their last three home games, culminating in Saturday's 7-0 slaughter of Stone Dominoes in which manager Karl Marginson fielded a largely second-string side.

But Marginson will revert to something close to his strongest team tonight, which means Allen will be among the subs.

That allows for a resumption of the 44-goal strike partnership of Stuart Rudd, who netted twice on Saturday, and Rory Patterson, who grabbed the last goal after being robbed of the sixth by Allen claiming the last touch.

"Danny did fantastically well," said Marginson. "But we will have to manage him carefully."

The Rebels are seeking clarification from the FA over the impending suspension of skipper Dave Chadwick for the crunch FA Vase third round tie with Quorn on December 9.

Chadwick is due to be banned for the game after collecting five bookings.

Tonight, we will be welcoming back FC United hero Joz Mitten as a guest to do the half time Fair Share draw. Our Joz was one of the first eleven players that took to the field for FC United and had a major involvement in setting up the club, including the inspired suggestion of Margy for the managers post, therefore, he will always have a special place in the glorious history of FC United. FC UNITED 0-3 ATHERTON Col. In a match we looked second best from start to finish you would have to say the best team on the night. Atherton were solid in defence, quick going forward and took their goals well so fair play to them. They deserved to win.

The playing in the Premiership in two or therabouts years boasts are not looking so good now. Still thats one less competition for FC of Bury to worry about. Still as a loyal shareholder I am going to hang on to my investment for the moment.

A rare defeat last night and fair play to Atherton, they deserved their victory on the night.
Crowds are always down a bit for midweek matches, especailly when big United are at home as well but still a fantastic atmosphere despite the result. Passionate vocal support for the full 90 minutes. Those who were there certainly made up for those who weren`t.
Even the bad times are good.

when will fc united realise that to go up the leagues you need money and big money at that ,there is going to come a time when you have to accept shirt sponsers , and other forms of advertising ,everything you say you left man united for, its just a fact of life and its how football works ,to get the best players you have to pay the best money ,and to get the best money you will have to consider shirt sponsers.otherwise you will reach a peak and you will struggle to move up the divisions ,in respect of your prinicables there great ,but you and the powers that be in your club really do need to consider all the options ,wishing you all the best for this season SALFORD RED

Salford Red. I do realise what it takes to go up the leagues and even agree with you. I think most people would. Only, there is one but fundamental thing you missed off your list. That's glazers hundreds of millions of debt! I won't pay one penny. Fans have already collectively paid for United once so if we are to buy a club twice it should be for ourselves not glazer or any other fat cat. I mean to say, suppose glazer's debts, what then. United will still be owned by the glazers and they will just continue to milk the club for all they can. I won't buy into that and my kids won't get exploited either.

Gee, Manchester United is in first, have a match v. Everton and will 3-0. FC has a match at Gigg Lane on the same night and their attendence FALLS 50% and they get their tails beat also by a score of 3-0. Yesterday may have been the greatest day in the speeding up the demise of FC. Congrats and Cheers all around, the drinks are on me!!

free red ,yes i did miss the glazers off ,and yes they have but the greatest club in the world in debt to the tune of millions ,but at least now when they buy a player it doesnt have to go to the stock exchange,they players they have bought have not been bad uns ,vidic ,evra ,carrick ,i know as well as yous that they are gambling on united being successful ,but do yous honestly think if the gamble failed that there would not be many more wanting to take there place ,manchester united is not a local team no more its an international team with more fans than any other club in the world , probably just like yous in non league circles ,

If the glazers ever were to pay off the 700 million debt (funny how the only talk is of paying the interest not the capital!) there is then nothing to stop them remortgaging the club for a further 700 million or so, and then paying this money as a special dividend to themselves. (cf Philip Green at BHS) so the fans could start paying for the club a third time, and then a fourth time ad infinitum.

Salford Red. Again I find myself agreeing with a lot of what you say. The PLC wasn't perfect and buying did require authorisation. Then again it doesn't take that long to agree a resolution and we always got our players on time. Now Fergie just asks the glazers, only, the glazers haven't bought any players. As always the fans have paid for everything which now includes the glazers debts. The glazers have contributed absolutely nothing to United but debt and you're right about them gambling with the clubs future. But let's suppose the glazers went. Other freeloaders would move in unless the fans bought the club and we can. I mean, where do you think glazer hopes to get the money from if not the fans. It is the fans who are paying his mortgage and I say again, we should be buying the club for ourselves. That is why I will stick with a fans owned club without some freeloader skimming off the top. I don't want to be part of a club with some fat cat banging up ticket prices just to line his pockets. Parking, beverages, food all being sold a premium and none of it anything to do with football. With all the money fans have poured into OT down the years the cost of an OT ticket should be about 15 quid max yet the glazers intend to put OT ticket prices in line with Chelsea. Why? Greed pure and simple. I will never accept the glazers and so I will continue to watch United on TV and FC live.

Stick to the day job JJ. What Glazer decides to do with his business is his business. None of your speculating or mischief making will have any impact what so ever. If he was running BCCI I am sure you would be the first person he would turn to but as he's not you will be left to your solitary siren role.

Salford Red. As J.J. said, fans could potentially end up buying the club over and over again for someone else. I argue we should be buying the club for ourselves with all the profit made used only to run the club. Any surplus would then allow the cost of going to a match to come down. It works in Europe clubs where super club ticket prices are a fraction of what OT charge. I think sooner or later United will be back on the market and when it fans need to buy a minimum 25% stake. That will still mean working with others who are interested in making profit, but at least we will have a realistic stake to build on. Anything short of that and as far as I'm concerned it's upwards and onwards with FC United.

I dont care about the glazers business cos I have nothing ot do with it. I am fully committed to FCUoM, the only football club I support. Salford Red. No problem. It's good to have had a structured discussion and I do take your point about other money grabbers coming in post glazer. I just hope next time round the fans can get a fair share of the club and with that, a say in how OUR club is run. I'm not a Board member. Members are prohibited from using internet forums. Anyway, on a different note, I hope Salford City can do a better job against Atherton Collieries than we did this Saturday. We can't have these ooter's having all there own way and if you go to the riverside I hope you have a cracking day out. Cheers.

Salford Red. The glazers have kicked out IMUSA and MUST and compulsory purchased all the fans shares so I can't see any fans getting on the board. As it stands United board members have been replaced by glazers sons and daughter. But even if they did allow fans on the Board, it would be nothing more than a PR exercise leaving them in overall control and able to reverse the decision at a whim. It would also still be them we are buying the club for. If we managed 25% ownership fans would automatically be entitled to a place on the Board and it wouldn't be reversible. That is what SU tried for last time. I understand that you live and breath United and respect your choice to continue with that. I prefer to support from a far for the time being and put the money I save into my MUST account where it accumulates interest. One day I hope to instruct MUST to empty that account and buy a piece of United again. I would encourage every Red to do the same. The Board we have has a range of skills far better suited to running a club than I have. I'm more your 90 minutes madness type than an organiser but I am flattered by your opinion of me.
