FC UNITED put eight past Glossop North End watched by Salford MP Hazel Blears.

The club hosted a `People United Day' as their contribution to the Kick Racism Out of Football campaign and the Labour Party chairwoman liked it so much that she abandoned plans to leave at half-time and saw the Rebels hit eight for the second time on the trot at home.

Rory Patterson was again the star performer with a brace to put the visitors out of the game after just 20 minutes.

Simon Carden added a second with a well-taken goal on the stroke of half-time.

Further strikes from Jamie Phoenix, Rhodri Giggs, Dave Chadwick and Nicky Platt made the game safe, but it was Rob Nugent's 30 yard pile-driver that really delighted the 3,257 Gigg Lane crowd and put United 10 points clear of Nantwich.

Funny that as I paid seven pounds to get in, however kids got in free, which is a fantastic idea.

Tommy, you missed the point, its not the attendence that is the story, its the fact that kids were able to watch free live entertaining football. When was the last time the Tampa Bay Bucs offered free tickets to kids. By the way what's the Bucs record now 1 win and 6 losses. FC United's record by the way is 16 wins and 1 loss!

Actually Raymond, the Glazer's have a family foundation and have a whole section in Raymond James Stadium in which kids get in free. You won't read about the Glazer's Family foundation on this website though. All articles about the Glazers have to be negative. I think it is a paper rule.

WOW! 100 free tickets! Tommy we don't make up these negative stories about Glazer, they are just there for everyone to see. Gill said that the hostile takeover wasn't in the clubs best interest, we didn't. Glazer has increased United season tickets by around 20 percent since taking over, we didn't. 3,300 is 32 times the average for last season in the NWCFL div 1. That means we're good for the league and good for the fans. Now if you can't say anything nice, try saying nothing at all.

Torpey's Thong - at least be truthful in your arguments, the ticket price increases were planned and announced before the season started and the price of the cheapest ticket into OT went down!

T.T. Did you know that the glazers now charge for a babys! Thats right, a season ticket costing of over 150 quid for a babe in arms. And seriously, no joke, I am talking about a baby here. A person so young that they could not possibly understand the concept of football let alone watch a match. How tight fisted is that. Compare that to FC United. From the 29 October it will be possible to buy a FC United U18s half season ticket for Â£10.50p, thats eleven home games for less than a quid each, with the first game v. Stone on 25 November. Viva la revolution, come on FC.

I think FC United should be proud of their achievement. The People United Day was excellent. As for harping on about Glazer, that's in the past now. The future, as Hazel Blears found is with us. FC United a team from the community, of the community and giving to the community. No shares, no parasites, no hatred, no rip offs. Kids for free, no to racism and eight goals to boot! And as my Dad says, its not the level of skills you'd expect - it is brilliant. And he ain't easily charmed.

Tommy so Glazer gives Bucs kids 100 free tickets each for the eight home regular season games a year. Big Deal !

How much are the regular kids tickets for the Bucs? - 30-40 dollars? Its a shame there are not approximately 3.80 dollars like FC's 2 pound tickets are!

So Tommy, even when kids pay to watch FC its still very affordable unlike the Bucs.

So 1000 kids are priced out of Old Trafford because their parents can't afford to take them anymore, but the Glazers let 100 kids in free to watch the Tampa Bay Bucs. On balance I wouldn't describe them as philanthropists.

Forget costs in tampa - outside of the family stand where does Old trafford have even concession prices (incl. OAPs and the unwaged) never mind free tickets?

From what I hear a good fun day good game, good laugh and awareness raised towards a plague that, even today, plagues the game.

Next weekend should be one of the highlights of the year - FC v Maine Rd is one that I was most peeved to miss - was even tempted to go back for it - but as I am getting married on Sunday the schedule may have been a bit tight.

Next up AGM. Tonight, 31 October 2006. The meeting is being held at The Central Methodist Hall on Oldham Street, Manchester. The meeting will begin at 7pm, but the doors will be open from 6pm and we ask that members try to arrive early to avoid missing the start. There will be tables for members to sign in at, where you will also collect your voting form. Please bring with you the explanation booklet that came through the post with the notification of the meeting. Evile in philly, PA. Talking about highlights, from next Monday, FC United TV will have a regular weekly show broadcast at 7.00 (UK time) on Manchester Channel M. You should be able to get it on Sky 203, Channel 39 Broadband or NTL 878. The first show will include this Saturdays Maine Road FC match. Incidentally, Maine Road are playing Glossop NE at home tonight. You can see what Glossop manager Chris Nicholson had to say about FC in his interview with FC United TV last Saturday at the connection below. Other NWCFL div. 1 matches being played tonight include Formby v. Nantwich Town, Newcastle Town v. Trafford and Squires Gate v. Atherton Collieries. Viva la revolution, come on FC.

Free Red, charging extra for babies at the bucs is presumably a parental choice. Pity more the poor (and they would be poor to live there) people who live on Glazer-owned trailer parks that were forced to pay extra monthly rent for kids and pets! Am so happy I said 'no mas' to the Glazers. Viva la revolucion,

My misunderstanding, Free Red. Wonder though if the Glazers can find a way of charging those mice who ran along the touchline during a night match last season. If babies have to be paid for, surely pets too!!! And think of all the pigeons flying in and out
