Rebels bounce back with victory

FC UNITED returned to winning ways in the league with a 3-0 demolition of St Helens Town.

The Reds proved the 2-1 defeat to Salford City was behind them with an assured performance in front of 1,851 fans at Gigg Lane.

Simon Carden grabbed his third goal of the week to begin the rout after good work from Rory Patterson then striker Stuart Rudd added a second with a header from a Josh Howard free-kick.

The third was a free header for Dave Brown from a Mortimer corner.

FC host Squires Gate on Saturday at Gigg Lane (3pm).

He he. Low attendance again! Oh we didn't know if the game was on or not because of the rain . . . .It was a weeknight. . . . . Waning moon . . .Good TV program on . . .Flat tire on our bicycle . . .My son had a U11 match . . .We are still supporters . . . When Chelsea passes MUFC in the table we'll be back!!! Does that cover it? Overthrow Andy!!

IF YOU HAD 1800 FANS LAST NIGHT AT HOME ,AND THERE WAS OVER 4000 AT THE WILLOWS ,SURELY SALFORD CITY ARE A LOT BETTER SUPPORTED THAN YOUS GIVE THEM CREDIT FOR ,ROLL ON THE 18TH NOVEMBER ,SO WE CAN SEE AGAIN THE BEST NON LEAGUE TEAM IN MANCHESTER , SALFORD SALFORD SALFORD

The St Helens side we played yesterday were a very different side to the one we beat on the opening day of the season. I knew they had gone down hill but not by how much until last night. From start to finish it was all FC with the score only kept down due to a few missed chances and a some good saves by their keeper Nicolson. It was good to see Dave Brown back from Salford. As well as scoring last night, he led us to promotion last season and its good to have him back. We are now 8 points clear at the top of the table from Maine Road and 10 points clear of Salford and Nantwich who both have one game in hand. I think our Manager Karl has to be worth a mention. He has picked up the managerial awards for September in The NWCF League Div.1. Well done to Karl. Our next opponents Squires Gate are currently 15th in the table having played 12, won 3, drawn 2 and lost 7. Hopefully we should take 3 points off them on Saturday. Viva la revolution, come on FC.

Tee hee another fabulous win for those boys in crimson. Bit of a poor attendance but then again you wouldn't expect hardy Buryites to be out in inclement weather would you. Still on the not too distant horizon lurks the Jaws like Salford City just waiting to burst that hyperbolic bubble. Bish bash boosh. Meanwhile Torpey reaches for his ready reckoner and made an enormous number of assumptions and we all know what assume did don't we kiddies.

i think we need a little perspective here peeps; 1800 weekday evening or sat aft is a pheneminal gate. Indeed it is a figure that most conference sides would aspire to; clearly in the second season this is a quite incredible feat and in honesty one i expect to continue to grow this season with another promotion.quite frankly the bottom line for me is its a evening or days entertainment for me and 3 kids for less than ¿¿20 ; enough said really; come on you reds!!
