Rebels push for the double

FC UNITED are red-hot favourites to complete their first league double of the season when they entertain St Helens Town at Gigg Lane tonight (7.45pm).

Karl Marginson's rebels launched the campaign with a 2-0 victory at Knowsley Road, the first of 12 successive NW Counties League triumphs which have seen them establish a five-point lead in division one.

Having had that run halted by Salford City, FC United will be looking to get back to winning ways against a Saints side who have won just one of their opening 10 games.

Phil. I have just spoke to the Groundsman at Gigg lane and tonights match is on. Keep an eye on the official website just in case. http://www.fc-utd.co.uk/index.php About the match. The Saints may have had a poor start to the season, but that will count for nothing tonight. They are well and truly fired up for this one and I expect a tough match. Salford dropped two points last night when they drew 4-4 v. Congleton in front of a crowd of 147. Other close rivals Nantwich Town also dropped points when they lost 1-0 away to Newcastle Town, so if we get a win tonight it will go some way to off set last Tuesdays league defeat. Bring on the Saints, come on FC.

ST Helens were very competetive in the opening fixture and I think their league position is slightly unrealistic, they looked a reasonable side to me. I expect a very tough game and hope that the FC lads can get themselves back on track tonight.

A good, solid 3-0 win last night.
It was great to see Dave Brown back again and nice for him to score on his return. Squires Gate up next lets hope we can carry this form on and get a win against them as well.

Trebles all round 1800+ for a weds night game is good considering England were on the box, also check out other teams attendances in the conference for tuesday night alti just got over 1000.

Hmmm... England were on the box... i thought you lot all hated England? Oops, almost forgot, silly me... United are top of the league at the moment, so we can all love the club again! But should they fall into a crisis, maybe 2nd place... then it's back to the FCUM's for more success! Yeeha! It's great this football watching lark! I wish we had done this years ago! If Big United can't do it, then little United will do in the meantime.

Of course for a true non league side that isn't built on hype and the happy clappy factor 1,800 is a good gate but we know how much FC love to big it up and to them big is most defintely best. So if you like to set the height as the bigger the better on Wednesday you definetly failed. Oh and another small weeny point. Wasn't Englands game on Sky? Who pays Mr Glazer so much money. Uhm didn't I hear a deathly silence?

These glazerites are sure worried about something. Could be they realize Fc United is the future and they will fade out like the dinosaurs. Go for it Fc United.

June and terry what hype are you talking about, and the money that glazer gets from sky comes from the fa who negotiated the contract with sky.
