FC UNITED have vowed to find the supporter who began the crowd trouble at Altrincham that has strained relationships between the two clubs.
A minor scuffle broke out at the Golf Road End of the ground during the friendly on Wednesday night, and appeared to be caused by a FC United fan, who was ejected by stewards.
Altrincham reacted strongly to the incident, saying it is unlikely they would want to play FC again, and are threatening to prevent the use of Moss Lane for any games involving the rebels.
The Red rebels are expected to put out their strongest possible side for tomorrow's Supporters Direct Trophy clash with fellow fan-owned club AFC Wimbledon at Gigg Lane, kick-off 3pm.
New full-backs Matty Taylor and Alex Mortimer, and striker Stuart Rudd, are likely to get a run-out in the game which is a return of last season's Trophy match at Kingsmeadow which the Wombles won 1-0.
FC officials will say a big 'thank you' to their Ryman League counterparts.
General manager Andy Walsh said: "Without the help and guidance of their chairman Kris Stewart, FC United may never have happened."
Are you pleased with the way FC's pre-season preparations are going? Have your say.

For Altrincham to react so strongly to the incident, to say it is unlikely they would want to play FC again, this has to be a tad more than a minor inicident. Rather than set up a bogus hunt for teh thug why didn't FC "fans" intervene to ensure this excuse for a human being was allowed to make his escape. FC you are a disgrace!

"The club are currently thoroughly investigating the facts surrounding an incident that occurred during our friendly versus Altrincham. The club are aware of the allegations and are aware of who are alleged to have been involved.
Once the full facts are established the individual(s) involved will be invited to explain themselves to the club with a view to taking appropriate and proportionate action.
Despite the actions of only one or two individuals, it is the whole of the club and our support that ultimately suffer. As supporters we have rightly taken pride in the ability to self-police over the last 12 months; a policy that has served us well, negated the need for authoritarian stewarding, enhanced our reputation and made us countless friends throughout the North West Counties League. That reputation and the very future of the club is imperilled if we allow the actions of one or two individuals to prevail.
Further, the club would like to make it clear that it will not absolve its own responsibility in these matters. We will continue to defend our own supporters when unfair accusations are made of them. We will continue to correct what we deem injustices.
We will not however defend or ignore incidents of unacceptable behaviour and anyone found to be involved in such behaviour will face the appropriate consequences. The club reserves the right to protect its good name including, should the circumstances merit it, a ban from all our games.

PS Note the eerie silence from Free Red. It looks as if his comments are restricted to map directions and hyperbole. Shame on you!

I was at the game in the end where the trouble was and it was only a very small number of individuals causing trouble. A small number is bad enough but Lets get this in perspective, 99% of FC fans were very well behaved and do not want to be associated with these thugs. Don`t tarnish the club with a bad name becuase of the actions of a very small number of idiots. unfortunately every club has some.
Most FC fans applauded Altrinchams goals and after the incident there were chants of we`re here for FC not for aggro.

Believe me, if the stories are true, he will not be welcome at FC in future.
You also baulk at "minor scuffle". If you had been the reporter, mhow would you have described it, given the fact that it was all over within seconds and there were no noticeable injuries?
I am not making light of this, because if what I bhave been hearing nis true, this individual needs serious action taken against him.
To try to judge the other 900 or so supporters by the actions of one or two idiots is wrong.
As for vother FC supporters intervening, I understand that some did head towards the problem with that intention, but that could have been seen as an attempt to join in with this idiot - and the stewards were very quick and efficient.
It sounds like sincere apologies to Alty may be in order, but until the full facts are established, let's just reserve judgment.

Don't pass the buck Andy, try taking responsibility for your supporters actions (along the same lines as SU took responsiblity w/ the attempted attack on the Glazers.) (allegedly).
I would have like to seen some type of interview or quote from Altrincham, it certainly doesn't sound like a "minor" scuffle if they are planning on blocking all FC access to Moss lane!

Ridiculous post. Totally hysterical and stupid response to a very minor incident at at a lower league friendly (i was there). Appalling, after all the FC United support on the internet for your anti-relegation petition!!
Seems more like a pathetic excuse to slag off a local success story by a jealous anti united element.
and if you are happy to brag (3-1) about beating a club 4 divisions below you, doesn't say much does it?

That shows that the demand for FC United news is as high as it is for Bury, Rochdale and Macc, hence the similar level of coverage.
When City were in Div Two, the MEN's coverage of City did not drop below that of Stockport and Bury, who were both a division higher.
It's not the level of football you play in, but the amount of interest, that matters.
