Rebels rally round

FC UNITED will play a team of celebrity soap stars and ex-professionals to raise money for Salfordian Chris McGuirk at De La Salle rugby union club on Monday May 29.

Chris is a 21-year-old rugby player left paralysed from the neck down after dislocating two vertebrae in December last year.

The rebel team will take on the all-star XI - including actors from Coronation Street, Holby City, Hollyoaks and Where the Heart Is.

This is a very worht while cause. Just like the Jamie Turner appeal and the preseason friendly against Stalybridge. FC United are not just dedicated to making football accesible to the local community but they are also determined to give time and effort back into those communities. Keep up the good work lads.

Once again FC United are there to help raise funds for those who are in need. FC and non FC United supporters should show their charitable side by supporting these causes as well.

June 3rd, Bucs Fan Fest at Raymond James Stadium! Hopefully one of the Glazers is there (they usually are) and I'll get my picture taken with them and put it on Ebay for all you FC Bitters of Bury to bid on. I will even autograph it for you!

MORE BREAKING NEWS. Fancy playing for FC United! heres how to get a game. FC United Reserve and Youth team - player trials. In line with FC United of Manchesters stated aim to give opportunities for local youngsters to play football, and with plans for a Reserve team and a Under 18s team now at an advanced stage, trials will be held for Manchester based players aged between 16-23. The trials will take place on the weekend of June 24 and 25 at a location in South Manchester: Saturday June 24 will see trials for the youth team and Sunday June 25th will be for the reserve team.If you want to apply to take part in these trials, please note the following information. Due to geographical and travel issues, all players must live within the Greater Manchester and surrounding areas. The Youth team trials are for players aged between 16-18 (as of August 1 2006). The Reserve team trials are for players aged between 19-23 (as of August 1 2006) FC United expect to be over-subscribed for this event, and not every applicant will get a chance to try out. Fred Palethorpe aka Malcolm Tampa ??" You were a member last year so you should try reading the clubs mission statement. I think you will find promoting local YOUNG talent from the Greater Manchester area is in there. As for the over 23s, if you havent emerged as a player in the non-league pyramid or football league by then, you should be looking at your alternatives. As you have already clamed to be 55 stone then probably a diet.

Free Red. You raelly have a tendency to drift into a delirium at the slightest excuse. Maybe its that pink wig you have been wearing has seeped through to whatever grey matter is still there. I have been busily putting on weight to get into the FC side. I thought that was a key requirement. Surely though such an altrusitic club as FC wouldn't discriminate against anyone because of either their age or size unless of course your intention is to try and catch up with Real United. Where are the trials been held? The Waggon and Horses car park?

Considering the will it wont it weather it was an excellent turn out for an excellent cause. Hate to say it but for a time City "claimed" to be the community club, this is why its geat to see United winning back the hearts and minds of the locals.
