FC United was formed because football needs to change to give match-going reds the feeling back that their actually supporting a football club once again. MUFC is so far away from Mancunians that in the end something had to give. Mancunian history shows that we are free thinkers and will stand up for what we believe. Plenty more football clubs out there already that don't charge the earth, kick off at 3.00pm on a Saturday and allow standing. Gradually, if FCUM lasts that long, your "support" will atrophy and your new commercial direction will have to compete to survive. Either way you will either remain a pub team or at best become a struggling imitation of United. There is no idealism only hype.

The board must have realised not everybody would get the news in time, and put on free sandwiches and curry in the social club for the 20-odd people who turned up. To quote a message from 5 Welsh fans: "half an hour and two pints later there were twenty fc fans down but not out. Within the next half hour we were joined by Dave Chadwick, Joz mitten, Phil Power, Darren Lyons and our great manager Karl Marinson. Soon after there was curry, sandwiches, free i might add, and lots of beer and chat. We all sat around like we were out for a stag doo. FC United were so lucky on Saturday. They somehow managed to scrape a 0-0 draw despite being dominated by Eccleshall. Well done lads. I thought you deserved all 3 points.

Oh and as I thought my forecast attendance was all of 11 out. Perhaps that was the FCeee team who seemed to spend most of the game watching and waiting on getting into the bar as soon as possible. By all accounts they trained for that after the Chadderton game was postponed. Pies and curry and beer. Champion.

According to the FC United site, Chadderton have just signed five players from NWCL division one club Salford City. This should provide for a good game, now to take place on Wednesday 30 November at 7:45pm. Come on FC. Viva la FCUM

I had a look at the FC United fans site. It was weird. Surely the work of adolescents. Of particular note was the songbook. No humour, not musical and hate filled. What a fine tribute to this breakaway group and its sponsors it is. The football community I hear you say. No evidence of it in in there.

This FC United site is very popular with contributors who obviously dont like FC United. So why do they spend time contributing so much negative stuff?
What re they trying to say? Are they trying to make a point? well what points are you trying to make??

Bruce Willis or whatever name you like to be called by you're not really Bruce are you? I thought you and your firm sorry club were beckoning in the brave new dawn rather than the usual hoolie nonsense on your site. Just an observation thats all.

Ib�TMm a Manchester United fan, and have been for over fifty years. I was and am very disillusioned at the takeover by the Glazers, and Ib�TMm interested in the FC United phenomenon, but I havenb�TMt been to any games yet, although I follow their results. Ib�TMve followed the debate for some time on these pages, and Ib�TMve heard the different arguments from Tommy and Malcolm, and read the various replies from different people. On the whole, I tend to side with the FC posters, but that doesnb�TMt mean to say I approve of everything to do with FC. I have seen their web site and was a little bit disappointed with the vulgar language, not just the anti-Glazer songs. For example, in one particular article by a fan, he goes into intimate detail about his ablutions before leaving the house to go to the match. Not necessary! Definitely not the image FC should be projecting. Similarly, although I like a drink the same as the next man, I think the club should be avoiding the hard-drinking image that seems to be present in a lot of the stuff written about FC. But, having said that, the FC posters on these pages strike me as being decent, likeable, fair-minded people, and I can understand their agenda. Less easy to understand is the agenda of Malcolm and Tommy. To be more precise, I can understand their disapproval of some aspects of the phenomenon, but they have put these points again and again. What I canb�TMt understand is their continuing presence on these pages. Similarly, you have subjected FC and its organisers to close scrutiny. Would you be willing to subject the Glazers to the same scutiny? If you can reply in a calm adult manner, I would like to know why you are still involved with FC United if you claim to despise them. Canb�TMt you see that people will simply consider you wind-up merchants, or worse still, in the pay of the Glazers? I donb�TMt think you are, but that is bound to be the way it comes across. One last thing, especially for Malcolm. You know what the FC posters stand for. What do YOU stand for? What is your favourite club, your favourite player? Remember, itb�TMs easy to shoot people down, less easy to defend what you believe in.

Good comments from Fairtown.I watch FCeeeee for the simple reason of catching up with a few mates who like me have been going to o/t for over 20 years and who like me have had enough of the business side. We have a few beers a sing song and a good time and save about B#50 not going to o/t. Don't get me wrong i love MUFC and always will, but id rather watch them in the pub these days with people i know watch MUFC because they love them rather than sit at o/t next to someone who does'nt know whos who.
